Catherine S. Yao
Cathy joined the firm in 2018. Her practice focuses on business and corporate law and estate planning and administration with an emphasis on state and federal taxation. Cathy advises clients on business sales and acquisitions, entity formation, individual and entity taxation, estate planning for individuals and business owners, and estate and trust administration. Additionally, she represents taxpayers and businesses in disputes with the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing agencies.
Prior to moving to Eugene, Cathy was a member of the business group at a law firm in Salem, Oregon. Prior to working at the Salem firm, Cathy worked at Big Four accounting firms advising clients on a variety of federal and state tax matters.
Cathy received her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law. Before receiving her J.D., Cathy earned a B.S. in Accounting from the Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
She is admitted to practice in Oregon, Washington, and Illinois.
